Miranda Blomquist of SCC accompanied the <br />inspection and represented the operator. The weather was warm and dry. The mine site is a reclaimed surface <br />mine. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />Eight large Cut throat trout were observed in Pond 16. These fish were estimated in size between 18" to <br />24 inch in length. <br />Mule deer were noted around the mine area. <br />There was evidence that Elk had bedded on the ridge top by the snowfence and had decimated the living snow <br />fence transplanted tree seedlings. A herd of Elk were glimpsed and heard on the wooded slope south east of the <br />PM 4-D drainage area. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; <br />Ponds 9 and 15 were not visited. Miranda confirmed that the road obstructing the access road to Pond 15 <br />had been removed. Cattle could be heard and seen on the slopes east of Pond 15. <br />Pond 6 was holding a pool of clear water and discharging. No problems were identified with the pond <br />embankments or the riser. The flume is hidden under thick vegetation.
