Due to nature and location of disturbance the only possibility that water runoff could
occur would be during a heavy rain storm or late spring snow melt.
There are no public records locatable that gave flow rates of Ute Creek. General
estimate is the creek could be in the vicinity of 2 to 3 CFS during peak run off months
of May and June then drop to levels near 0.03 CFS late fall.
All ditches near operations will have both primary and secondary erosion logs and/or
erosion bales in place to catch sediments.
• Colorado Division of Wildlife
Note: A Colorado Division of Wildlife statement is note required for the 110(1)
Limited Impact Operation.
6.3.3 Exhibit C — Mining Plan
Mine Overview
The proposed mining plan is a 110(1) Limited Impact Operation of <5 acres. This is a
very small weekend type of operation removing limited amounts of a thin vein that varies
from 6 inches to 3 feet in width using an excavator. Total length of trench is <350 feet in
length with majority of trench less than 6 to 10 feet in width.
The amount of material removed is estimated between 300 to 1,500 cubic yards per year.
Total operation is estimated at less than 3,000 to 4,000 cubic yards over the life of the
limited impact operation. It would be worth noting that a large mining operation removes
this amount of material in just a few days. This proposed mining operation plans to
carefully remove this amount of material over several years.
A few notes on this mine:
• No large mining trucks utilized
• All material processed on site using a recycled water system
• No dangerous chemicals and No leaches
• No explosives
• All material removed by an excavator and hand sorted
• Very small weekend type of mine
• Top Soil and Waste Rock separated and stored in different locations
Teton Drilling, Inc.
Dixie Mine - Clear Creek County, CO
