STATE OF
COLORADO Scott-DNR,Eric<eric.scott@state.co.us>
Reagent testing at Climax Mill
Lazuk,Raymond<Raymond_Lazuk@fmi.com>
To:"Scott,Eric"<Edc.Scott@state.co.us>
Hi Eric,
Climax Metallurgy is running a short test on a new reagent to depress CaF2. The reagent is Sodium Silicate(MSDS attached)and the testing plan is shown below. We will add 40-60 cc/mi
circuit using a tote and a LMI pump. With this dosage the tote will last about 7 days. In case we see any issues with our process from the test reagent we will discontinue the test and disp
accordance with waste regulations. The tote will be placed in the cleaner circuit area of the floatation side of the mill, where we have concrete floors and a sump to provide both secondary
spills. We will be plan to update to the EPP if we decide to make this a permanent change.
Please let me know if you have any concerns. We would like to begin testing right away.
Thanks,
-Ray
Raymond Lazuk
Environmental Manager
Climax Molybdenum Company
Climax Mine
HWY 91-Fremont Pass
Climax,CO 80429
Office:719-486-7584
Cell:719-201-1282
raymoro_lazuk@fmi.com
