should have an accurate map of the final underground workings from which the actual
affected area (including angle of draw) can be determined.
a. DRMS 02/18: Please revise the King I maps to accurately depict the true affected
area, given the final extent of the workings and associated projection of the angle of
draw to the surface.
DRMS 06/14: The affected area boundary has been updated, as requested.
However, the symbol used is a light -weight green line which is hard to see, and there
are already two other solid green lines being used on Maps 004. Please use a line
type that is more readily identifiable, and add the symbol to the Legend(s).
b. DRMS 02/18: Once this area is determined, please update the affected acreage
provided in King I Section 2.03.8. Acreages shown for disturbance at the surface
facilities for King I and King II should also be reviewed, and updated as necessary.
DRMS 06/14: Sections 2.03.8 were revised to show affected areas (for surface
disturbances and underground workings) for the specific facility. [The Division notes
that actual affected area for King I is significantly smaller than what was permitted
and previously assumed.] The total permit area (2,702.77 acres) is given in both
locations. This item has been satisfactorily addressed. The application form
indicated that an increase of 83.7 acres the previous permit has resulted from the
new boundary. The Division is interested to know how the proposed total acreage
was calculated. (The permit does not need to describe the method used; the
information is for the Division's records.)
C. DRMS 02/18: Please update the various permit maps as necessary to enlarge the
permit area so as to incorporate all affected areas into the permit area.
DRMS 06/14: King I and II Maps 001 thru 007 were revised as requested. This item
has been satisfactorily addressed.
2.03.9 Insurance Information
1. DRMS 02/18: An outdated copy of the public liability insurance policy certificate is located
in Appendices 14 of the permit (expired on 09/01/2007).
a. DRMS 02/18: Please update King I and King II Appendix 14 with a current and active
copy of the public liability insurance policy certificate in accordance with Rule
2.03.9(1).
b. DRMS 02/18: In accordance with Rule 2.03.9(3), please ensure the policy includes a
rider requiring that the insurer notify the Division whenever substantive changes are
made in the policy, including any termination or failure to renew.
DRMS 06/14: Current copies of the liability insurance certificates were provided, with the
rider, as requested. These items have been satisfactorily addressed.
