May 20, 2015 C-1996-083/13owie No. 2 Mine JDM
Pond K
Pond J
Ditches and culverts were in stable condition throughout the mine site. No issues were noted with ditches and
culverts.
The Terror Creek Shaft SAE was stable with no items noted, with the exception of the following:
On-going maintenance item:
- The northwest corner of the shaft pad rock -lined down -drain has been breached on the west side of the drain.
This area had slight down -cut and light erosion. This area was being addressed to ensure that all run-off through
the rock -lined drain is contained within the drain at the time of the inspection with the erosion repaired. Erosion
control should be installed around the fresh disturbance and the area re -seeded.
s
I'
4,41
.iiia i1 . _ -. ♦ 1` <+ : .
Terror Creek Vent Shaft SAE Down -drain repair
As noted in the October 2014 and March 2015 coal complete inspection, ditch D-1337 is designed to flow south
along the conveyor line between culverts C-1326 and C -B 13. Culvert C-1313 then conveys the D-1337 flow to 13 -
Gulch. Due to down -cutting of D-1337 the operator cut a new ditch to carry flow from D-1337 to B -Gulch on the
west side of the conveyor, rather than realigning D-1337 to C-1313. BRL has submitted TR -102 to revise designs
consistent with the current on -the -ground configuration. TR -102 is currently under review by the Division.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 13
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 4 of 8
