As stated in
Illustration 44 for Dill Sites - Gentle Slopes, this demonstration is for dill sites located on gentle slopes. Types
of drill sites include degas borehole sites, exploration /development drill sites, ventilation sites, rock dust sites,
etc. Each site must be on 8% or lesser overall grade, have some natural grass filter immediately down gradient,
and be cross ripped on contour creating substantial surface roughness. Deserado degas pad sites that were
inspected and compared to this demonstration were LWB 13 -1, 13 -2, 13 -3, 13 -4 and 13 -5. Each of the 5 pads,
no erosion was observed leaving site.
SEDCAD demonstration outline 42 is generally the demonstration used for all current reclamation practices
for drill pad sites. As stated in Illustration 44 for Drill Sites with Good Cover, this demonstration is intended to
address SAE requirements for drill sites following reclamation once the vegetation community has started to
mature producing good ground cover. The modeled site is 0.5 acres in size and has a 25% average slope. Soil
properties are modified on all by the much flatter slopes eliminating subsurface interference with permeability.
For this demonstration, it should be noted that 25% is based on a worst case scenario in order to achieve AOC
along slopes.
The majority of the reclaimed pads are along more flat surfaces. The steepest pad inspected was LWB10 -1.
This pad was located along a slope and visually, the slope was estimated to be under 25 %.
