April 29, 2015 C- 1982 - 057 /Seneca II -W Mine JHB
PM -5A and PM 5 -13 appeared to be holding up well with no gullys forming in this drainage.
005 -Gulch was free of snow and holding up well. No damage was noted from the eastern extent of 005 -Gulch to
Stock Tank T -18.
Drainage 005 -E I was flowing, but rip -rap was holding up well.
Rip rapped collection ditch draining to culvert PM -15 had held up well during the winter months and runoff
season.
Stock tank T -20 was holding a shallow pool of water.
Pond 005 was discharging. The flume showed a trickle and was immeasurable due to unlevel status. Katryna
indicated that this flume will be replaced. SCC is working on bidding out the flume replacement work.
Pond 015 was inaccessible due to rock fall on the access road. SCC has been able to access pond 15 via an ATV.
ROADS — Rule 4.03
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4)
Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)
Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
Access road J was soft but holding up well. Previous gravel placement on road J is well placed and
keeping road traversable. Culverts under Road J were clear and functioning as intended. Sediment traps were
functioning well, with no maintenance needed on the sediment traps.
Access road A was in good condition with no concerns noted along this road.
Ridgeline access road was in good condition. Runoff was draining appropriately off Ridgeline road, and all
culverts were clear.
Access road G was in good condition. Areas graveled in 2014 are doing well.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
The snow fence erected on the ridge west of drainage PM -4C held up very well. There was no evidence of
gully formation at the fence, the fence showed no signs of being knocked over from large snow drifts. Living
snow fence tree seedlings were surviving well. Some mortality was evident but the majority f the seedlings
appeared to be thriving. Some of the weed barrier fabric at the living snow fence had pulled up and was blowing
around. Re- staking or removal of this loose fabric is advised to reduce the potential for the fabric to uproot the
surviving seedlings.
REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Vegetation throughout the mine site is greening up and beginning active growth. Unfenced tree & shrub
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 4 of 9
