Katryna Snowden of <br />Seneca Coal Company accompanied the inspection and represented the operator. The area had received snow /rain <br />precipitaion two days prior to the inspection. The site was damp but not too muddy. Some of the roads were soft, <br />but drivable. <br />The mine is a reclaimed surface mine with a shop /warehouse area remaining. No mine personnel remain on the <br />mine site. SCC personnel use an office at the Peabody Sage Creek Mine. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />Records were verified at the Peabody Sage Creek office. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />A single elk was observed drinking and wading at stock tank T -18. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones <br />4.05.18: <br />Pond 17 was discharging . No problems were observed with this pond. Inlets and 2014 repairs were <br />holding up well. <br />PM1 drainage had held up well during the winter months and subsequent snowmelt.. Surge tanks PM -1 -1, PM 1- <br />A-2, PM 1 -A -1, and PM 1 -A -3 were in good condition, all four had a small trickle of runoff passing through the <br />discharge structures. Minor rilling was observed at PM 1 -A -1, but all runoff was directed into the surge tank. <br />Drainages PM 1 -C and PM 1 -B were functioning well. Some gullying was noted south of 2008 Shrub plot. The <br />deepest segment extends approximately 20 feet.
