CA
3SSFIRE AGGREGRATE
SERVICES, LLC
Re- vegetation
EXHIBIT E
Final reclamation will be for use as calving ground, including access roads and water supply. There will
be no intentional seeding with native grasses, forbs, or other plant species unless those are determined
to be desirable for pasture land. Portions of the site within permit boundaries, not to be mined, will
have existing woody vegetation left in place. Verification of completed reclamation will be done by a
statement prepared and signed by the landowner confirming that the site is acceptable. During
reclamation, weed control methods (Exhibit J: Vegetative Information) as approved by Conservation
District and County officials, will be used on all affected land to prevent weed infestation. Final approval
of reclamation will be granted by the Colorado Department of Natural Resources after submitting the
statement and verification of notifications in accordance with DNR procedures and inspection.
For disturbed areas, the reclamation plan includes re- vegetating with an appropriate seed mix to minimize
erosion and re- establish natural terrain. The seed mixture below was selected to be long lasting and
regenerating based on the final land use of the site. The ground will be fine graded prior to seeding. The
seed mix will be planted with drill- seeders. If a significant invasion of noxious weeds occurs after seeding,
the weeds will be mowed before they can go to seed. Mechanical control will be used as a first priority.
Chemical methods will only be used if no other alternative produces acceptable results.
Site Preparation
Following fine - grading, discing /harrowing shall be executed on the reclamation areas that are capable of
safely supporting seeding equipment, including but not limited to tractors and their associated
implements. Ripping to a minimum 12 inch depth shall precede discing /harrowing should the drill -seed
discs not properly penetrate the soil surface to the set seeding depth.
Seed Application
Unless constrained by steep slopes, inaccessibility or other safety or technical limitation, seed shall be
applied by use of an appropriate drill implement for the selected seed. Seed application shall occur
prior to or following soil freezing and thaw respectively. Broadcast seeding may be substituted on
slopes incapable of safely supporting seeding equipment. Seeding rates shall be doubled in such
instances and seeded areas raked to provide proper seed depth and soil -seed contact. Two -pass
seeding is permitted provided even distribution of all specified seeds is achieved.
Mulch Application
A minimum of 2 tons per acre of hay mulch (straw mulch may be substituted) with a maximum of 2.5
tons /acre shall be evenly spread or blown over the seeded area. Mulch shall be "crimped" into the soil
surface with proper discing implements on the area that is capable of safely operating such equipment.
Mulch shall be "tackified" to slopes incapable of supporting seeding equipment using plantago -based
tackifier (or equivalent) at a rate of 600 Ibs /acre.
Prepared by Tegre Corp.
1199 Main Ave., Suite 101
Durango, CO 81301
(970) 828 -1811
