Engineering Analytic, Inc. 1600 Spebt Point Rd. Suite 209 Fort Collins, CO 80525 . 970.488.3111 wwwIngAnalytics.corr,
Technical Memorandum
To:
William K. Havengar
From:
Clint Brown, P.E.
Nate Bolles, P.G.
Company:
Lazy H Inc
Date:
March 20, 2015
EA No.:
110545
Re:
Exhibit C — Mining Plan
Applicant: Lazy H Inc
Cc:
Rod Baumgartner, Henrylyn Irrigation District
A) Mining activities are anticipated to begin by April 3, 2015 and continue for approximately
seven weeks. The anticipated end date of mining is expected to end on or around June 1,
2015.
B) Approximately 3 inches of topsoil will be removed from the site and stockpiled for reuse
during reclamation. The actual depth of topsoil removed will depend on the volume present
during excavation.
C) Besides topsoil that will be reused during reclamation, no overburden or waste rock will
be produced. The material is being mined for use as miscellaneous fill.
D) Between approximately five and ten feet of soil will be mined, depending on the varying
thickness of the sand layer.
E) The site will be accessed by low impact mining equipment, which consists of pickup trucks,
one excavator, and three -axle dump trucks. A proposed access road will extend from the
southwest corner of the mine site to Hudson Mile Road. Mined material will be transported
offsite to other locations requiring fill. A portable toilet will be provided onsite. No other
land improvements or structures will be constructed.
F) Excavation will be limited to the areas shown in Exhibit E -1, Mining Plan (13.1 acres).
Mining will consist of removing shallow sand and surface grading. A new access road will
consist of approximately 0.4 acres.
G) A proposed access road will be constructed to access the south side of the site using a
grader to create a flat road surface approximately 15 feet in width (Exhibit E -1).
H) Water consumption for mining and processing of the material will be minimal and will
consist of dust suppression for haul roads when necessary. Total annual water consumption
is anticipated to be less than 0.25 acre -feet. Lazy H Inc has secured water from the Denver -
Hudson Canal, which is owned by Henrylyn Irrigation District (lessee). There will not be
any onsite material processing. Thus, mining operations will not require any additional
water sources. The proposed operations will not require any surface water diversions, pit
dewatering, and/or impoundments. Storm water will be managed by onsite ponding and
evaporation.
Exhibit C.docx I Engineering A nalytics, Inc.
