Mr. Peter Hays, DRMS
April 23, 2015
(e) The investigation is currently in progress to determine the cause of the leak. Excavation
and repair will begin after a proper locate is completed. The pipe is a 6" line buried 9 feet
under the surface.
At present, once the area is excavated, the condition of the line will be assessed. Site
engineers are anticipating a failed valve at the base of the hydrant as the cause of this
event. Henderson will have a new hydrant and valve onsite once the excavation is
complete to replace any impaired equipment. Further evaluation of the line condition will
be assessed while the excavation is in progress.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 720 - 942 -3518 or
Miguel Hamarat at 720 - 942 -3255.
Sin rel
im Haynes
Sr. Environmental Engineer
Climax Molybdenum Company
Henderson Operations
CC (via email):
B.
