The Division
received groundwater monitoring well data for the Derr Pit monitoring wells on March 18, 2015
and groundwater elevation data from the adjacent well owners (Parker, Harrell and Francis) on
April 1, 2015.
The Division did not received groundwater elevation data for the Monroe well, which is
included in the approved groundwater monitoring plan. Please provide groundwater
elevation data for the Monroe well and begin the required monthly well monitoring, if not
started by the Operator.
In the Responses to Second Adequacy Review Comments for TR -01, dated October, 21,
2013, the Operator committed to providing the trigger level elevations from a 2 -foot change
from historical groundwater levels for each monitoring location with the groundwater data.
The Division has not received the trigger level elevations for the monitoring locations with
the groundwater data provided by the Operator. Please provide the trigger level elevations
for each monitoring well location.
Based on the Division review of the Derr Pit monitoring well data (TB -1, TB -7 and TB -8) and
the adjacent landowner well data submitted by the Operator, the Division believes the
dewatering of the Loloff Mine has caused a greater then 2 -foot change from the historical
groundwater levels.
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http: / /mining. state.co.us
John W.
