April 21, 2015 C- 1981 - 014 /Southfield Mine RDZ <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />Substation Number 2 is still being reclaimed. A soil pile is still on site, as are two pieces of equipment <br />(no operator was on site). No significant sediment load off this area was observed, however the Division <br />recommends the use of erosion control practices to prevent the area from eroding onto adjacent areas in the future. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />New signs have been placed at the loadout telling the public that no dumping is allowed. <br />OFFSITE SUPPORT FACILIITES - Rule 4.04,4.28: <br />See Revegetation section for discussion of reclaimed ponds at the loadout. The rest of the loadout area <br />was inspected, and no erosion, large weed patches, or other problems were seen. On the east side of the loadout, a <br />new pile of branches was seen. <br />TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06 <br />Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />Two topsoil stockpiles were observed and no significant problems were identified. These include the one <br />near the gravel parking lot in the facilities area and the one at the northwest corner of the RDA. Vegetation was <br />good, no erosion was seen, and signs were in place.
