Pitch Reclamation Project Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board — 2014 Annual Reclamation Report 8. MONITORING & RECLAMATION ACTIVITIES PLANNED FOR 2015 In addition to the continued monitoring of pit slope stability and water quality, Homestake continues to move forward with final closure and reclamation of the Pitch property. During 2015, the following ' activities are tentatively scheduled or planned: • Continue to monitor the Tie Camp Creek Disposal Cell for depressions where water could pond, and manage the drainage off and around the cell;' r• Inspect and reseed drainage and erosion repairs made in 2012 on the upper benches of the Tie Camp rock dump and groin area on the west side of the Indian Creek rock dump; ' • Planting of tree seedlings in selected areas of the Irock dumps and pits slopes as necessary; • Continue to monitor the constructed wetlands located in the drainage area in the vicinity of the former RTP and on the small sediment settling basins constructed upgradient from the sediment ' pond, including placement of additional organic material (e.g. peat), transplanting cattails from similar elevations; and other enhancement activities to further promote sediment control; • Monitor the drainage channels on the east and south walls of the North Pit and the east wall of the South Pit and in other areas throughout the property and make improvements as necessary; I • Clean sediment traps in Indian and Tie Camp dra'nages above the Sediment Pond; Inspect and replace, as necessary, the pump in piezometer P-4 and install new level Troll 500, In- Situ level transducer in P -7; 1 Continue to use level Troll 500 in 1030OR and 10370R for a more accurate water level readings; • Assess the area where the straw bales were placed in the North Pit in 2010 and inspect and maintain the diversion ditch installed in 2012 between the 10800 and 10600 levels on the east wall of the North Pit; I ' • Continue to inspect and remove tree seedlings on the upstream and downstream face of the Sediment Embankment; •. Apply UREA 46 -0 -0 fertilizer on the upper benches of North Pit and Indian Rock Dump between the 10630 and 10800 levels as deemed appropriate for plant growth. • Continued noxious weed control management using Milestone with TelarXP and Escort XP w/R- 11 Activator; i • Conduct monthly and quarterly monitoring and reporting pursuant to the CDPS permit at the POC ' SW -33 for water releases; I • Conduct annual surveys of the slope monitoring monuments and inclinometers; • Inspect and monitor the sediment control embankment; and • Grade all roads for safe travel ways into and aroulnd mine site. I • Work with a contractor to demolish and remove the sand filtration plant located near the toe of the sediment pond embankment pending contract negotiations and approval.
