Item 5 - Escapeway Hoist and Shaft Structures <br />At the top of the raise bore escapeway in Governor Basin, three distinct structures will be <br />present. <br />First, metal beam headframe superstructure approximately 26 feet high and base dimensions 12' <br />x 12' of sitting on a reinforced concrete foundation of 12 feet 120 feet x 1 foot thick reinforced <br />concrete, which will rest directly over the 8 feet diameter shaft I hole. The foundation will be <br />reinforced with 3/4" #20 rebar which is additionally anchored into bedrock with #8 rebar and <br />I <br />epoxy resin. The superstructure and foundations will need to ibe removed for reclamation. Metal <br />sheeting will cover the superstructure. Upon'reclamation, this structure will be removed and the <br />concrete foundation will be broken and placed in the shaft prior to sealing. <br />Second, a hoist and winch to operate the escapeway capsule which will be housed in two sea <br />cans of 20 feet length and 8' width. These two sea cans will be joined together and act as one <br />I <br />portable building. The sea cans will be placed on a concrete slab of 6" thickness with base <br />dimensions of 16 feet x 20 feet. This double sea can will hou i e the hoist wheel, wire rope, winch <br />and diesel powered electric motor. This double sea can structure will be located approximately <br />I <br />100 feet from the shaft. Upon reclamation. For reclamation, the sea cans will be removed on a <br />flatbed truck and taken off site. I <br />The third structure at the shaft will be the refuge chamber. The chamber will provide temporary <br />shelter if the main drift out of the mine is blocked or unusable for some reason and men must <br />utilize the escapeway capsule tpo exit the mine. This chamber will also be constructed of two sea <br />cans joined together to make a space of 16 feet x 40 feet long. The walls between the sea cans <br />will be partially removed and the sea cans will have bunks, wood stove, food and water for up to <br />25 miners. This structure will be located near the two sea cans that hold the hoist. <br />For reclamation, the sea cans will be loaded on a flat bed trailer and taken off site. <br />The Governor Basin shaft will be sealed after all surface structures have been removed. This <br />seal will consist of a reinforced concrete slab placed over the shaft collar, followed by minor <br />
