A trackhoe would be used for up to 120 days for upgrading the ATWUTV trail, grading of existing waste rock, and reclamation. The operator
plans to use a four wheel drive vehicle and an all- terrain vehicle for travel on the access road. There is a gate in place on this access road
restricting unauthorized motorized traffic.
In addition, equipment utilized for exploration and target development will include a Niton Portable XRF analyzer, an EzeBreak Micro Blaster
unit, jackleg drill, picks & shovels, air compressor, hydraulic splitter and saw, 30 kw small generator, tool box, timber, air compressor, pipe &
hardwater, hoisting equipment, overshot air powered mucking machine, slusher, backhoe, 2 -5 yard loader, small dozer (650), ore car,
electric or air trammer, core drills, long -hole drills (down -hole and/or conventional), miscellaneous parts'and repair kits and other necessary,
and miscellaneous required equipment.'" `
E. Structures. Include information about fixed or portable structures or facilities planned for the operation. Show locations on the map. Include such
things as living quarters, storage sheds, mill buildings, thickener tanks, fuel storage, powder magazines, pipelines, water, diversions, trailers, sanitation -
facilrties including sewage disposal, etc. Include engineering design and geotechnical information for project facilities, justification and calculations for
*09 of tinks,'pipefines and water diversions, etc. `
Construction of a temporary 8'x16' storage shed or a 20ft shipping container would serve as a secure storage for tools and equipment
Lumber would also be stored next to the shed and be properly secured and' not exceed 4ft stacks.' No timber` will be'ci't; all timber and
lumber will be purchased locally and transported to the property. A trailerwill be utilized for ttansporation of lumber and tools and will be
stored onsight next to the stroage shed when not in use.
V. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION MEASURES (SEE 36 CFR 228.8) -.,•. ,
A. Air Quality: Describe measures proposed to minimize impacts on air quality -such as, obtaining a burning permit for slash disposal or dust abatement on
roads. R
Machinery would produce minimal dust during trail maintainence & operations and.should not tamish air quality. Access by ATV and UTV
will likewise produce minimal -to -no dust. No other proposed activities will be effecting air quality.
B. Water Quality. State how applicable state and federal water quality standards will be met. Describe measures or management practices to be used
1
to minimize water quality impacts rand meet applicable standards. -
State whether water is b be used in the operation, and describe the quantify, source; methods and design of diversions, storage, use, dispos ^al,. and
treatment facilities. Include assumptions for sizing water conveyance or storage facilties.
2. Describe methods to control erosion and surface water runoff from all disturbed areas, including waste and tailings dumps.
3.'* Describe proposed surface water and groundwater quality monitoring, if required, "to demonstrate oompliancewith federal or state water quality
standards. .. '
4. Describe the measures to be used to minimize potential water quality impacts during seasonal closures, or for a temporary cessation of operations. "
5. If land application is proposed for wastewater disposal, the location and operation of the land application system must be described. Also describe
how vegetation, soil, and surface and groundwater quality will be protected if land application is used.
1) Water will be used for mixing cement and using a jackleg drill. A 5 -300 gallon tank will be used transported,up the hill for supplying water.
` 2), She entire operation' is on existing talus•slope; backfill, reshape, arid reseeding will be dorie'as'needed for all holes, pits and excavations
associated with mining exploration operations. Any disturbed sites will'be stabilized during and afterconstruction to control erosion'and
mass wasting, and minimal surface water will be diverted and dissipate into the talus.
3) There is no known discharge from the mine. Discharge and water permits in place with the Alma Watershed, City of Alma, Colorado.
4) Stabilization, grading and.seeding will be conducted as needed at the culmination of the season.
