The amount of waste rock which may be produced over the 5 ,year life for this proposal is approximately 24,000
tons. The waste rock is primarily Precambrian,-gtanite /gneiss with lesser Tertiary porphyry intrusives.` • These
rocks host rhodocrosite ,vein pockets, which,.. often • carry crystallized specimens.' - iThed waste' impoundment
resembles the current topography and talus slope. i ; ; ' i..• . ; : ,r '
All trash' and litter will be'removed 't='
om the ' property." Any food` will be' properly contained to eliminate
interaction with wildlife, especially bears.
Human waste will be removed from, the property; %A portable sanitary facility is proposed and would be :secured
with the storage shed. This would be removed upon completion of the project.
No known disturbances "to Scenic Values are being proposed with these operations.,' Waste Rock Impoundment
is not visible unless,on the property. Trail access.is`gated to,prevent any, unauthorized entrance to the mine
property. . .
Careful reclamation and proper waste disposal will ensure protection of surrounding wildlife and habitat.) There
are no known federally listed threatened or endagered species that would be affected by the proposed project. No
fish and minimal wildlife live at the 12,500ft elevation of the property.
A.: .-! i
i, 3 .,,; ,' }i;l., .ii , . . t, ¢. i44, .. ' •, •,t 'i f • j. r..
There are no known cultural resources n the project area. A Cultural Resource Investigation was completed and
is available in the administration record. The investigation concluded that the impact of these proposed plans will
not affect listed or eligible for listing in the national historic register (as reported within the January 4, 2011
DECISION MEMO for the Sara Rose Mining Project).
Only petroleum products for the all- terrain vehicles and `diesel machinery will be used. Primarily unleaded
gasoline & diesel fuel (5 gallon plastic containers); and motor oil (1 gallon plastic containers) will be used. These
materials will be-transported in -approved containers secured in the bed =of the' off -road vehicle., Any -fuel on site
(gasoline; diesel, motor oil, etc..:) will be stored within a contained area at the storage shed. Spill pans and
absorbant pads will be available on siteAr spill prevention and containment. All petroleum products will be
stored in their designated and.approved containers.
In addition to the plan summarized above, additional requirements described for the•mining plan in Rule 6.3.3 (1)
are addressed below:,:
(a) `The proposed activi'ties'will commence on or around June 1; 2015 an d end around December 31, 2020. Mining
will be'seasonal based on access:
. i
(b) N/A = No soil on s ite.
(c) The operation proposes extraction of up to 24,000 tons waste rock'during the term of its plan. The storage site
of the aforementioned waste rock is displayed in Exhibit E, Appendix Il.
(d) N/A _ The deposit thickness is unknown as this operation is rfocused on the high grade targeting of specimen
quality minerals rather than ore. Additionally, the' roject'is stilf'undergoiiig exploration and prospecting so
final mining zones are yet to be finalized.
(e) This' operation contains 2 adits (T primary use, 1 'c' rr6 fitl y decommissioned) and pr "oposes, opening a 3rd to
provide a secondary, exit for safety and ventilation of the underground workings. In adiiition''to these
underground openings; the'-site' is accessed via a"260'0 linear' feet road that could be up to ' 1'2 feet wide.
Construction of a 8x16 foot shed or 20 foot storage 'container is proposed. The''aforementioned mining
components are displayed on the maps in Exhibit E, Appendix IL' " "'
(f) The only significant land surface disturbances proposed for this operation is the temporary storage of waste
rock located just outside the mine portal entrance:;The'estimafed waste rock pile storage,'area is illustrated in
Exhibit E, Appendbc'II and is demonstrated as an oval shape;measuringapproximaiely 310 feet long by 100
feet wide (40,630 ft2). j
