Project Name, Activity and Location
The Bowie No. 1 Mine is a reclaimed underground coal mine under post mining conditions. Note that some reclamation activities
remain. AThe West Mine was reclaimed and seeded in 2002. Structures were removed at the East Mine, but as of the date of the
application (January 2007), the area had not been regraded. Although this is a post mining underground mine, the only dischazge is
from surface water runoff. The facility is located in NE '/a and the SE '/~ of Section 24, T 13S, R91 W; in Delta County.

found in the Classifications and Numeric Standards for the Gunnison River and Lower Dolores River Basin (Regulation No. 35; last
update effecrive 7/1/07). Segment 5 is Undesignated, and is classified for the following beneficial uses: Aquatic Life, Class 1 Cold;
Recreation Class P; Water Supply and Agriculture.
The dischazge is to a unnamed drainage tributary to the North Fork of the Gunnison, and to the Farmers Ditch, which may return flow to
the North Fork, within Segment 6a of the North Fork of the Gunnison River Sub-basin, Gunnison River Basin, found in the Classifications
and Numeric Standards for the Gunnison River and Lower Dolores River Basin (Regulation No. 35; last update effective 7/1/07).
Segment 6a is Use Protected, and is classified for the following beneficial uses: Aquatic Life, Class 2.Wann; Recreation Class P; and

The discharge is to Stevens Gulch, within Segment 6b of the North Fork of the Gunnison River Sub-basin, Gunnison River Basin, found in
the Classifications and Numeric Standards for the Gunnison River and Lower Dolores River Basin (Regulation No. 35; last update
effective 7/1107). Segment 6b is Use Protected, and is classified foz the following beneficial uses: Aquatic Life, Class 2 Warm; Recreation
Class P; Water Supply and Agriculture.
