Weed control was completed by Weed Wranglers, Inc. at all Phase 1 mitigation areas and along
the installed 18 -inch pipeline corridor during the growing seasons of 2012 and 2013. Noxious
and nuisance weeds were sprayed with an appropriate herbicide by backpack to focus the
treatments where needed. The site was inaccessible in 2014 due to the entry road being
washed out during the Flood. Therefore, weed control was not possible in 2014. Weed control
will continue in 2015 as the mitigation areas further establish once the road has been
reconstructed.
Supplemental Watering
9
The 2014 growing season had adequate rainfall in the spring into summer months. The
weather became hot and dry later in the summer, but no supplemental watering was needed as
the area had more than average rainfall. The planted trees and shrubs which survived the 2013
Flood appear to be establishing and therefore need little to no supplemental irrigation at this
point.
Schwartzwalder Mine Phase 1 — 2014 Second Annual Mitigation Monitoring Report Page 10
March 2015
IRIS MITIGATION AND DESIGN INC.
IRIS
INC.
2022 Arapahoe Street
Golden, Colorado 80401
MITIGATION AND DESIGN,
Environmental Consulting
Phone: 720 - 272 -1985
bleisure@irismitigation.com
All plants will be monitored again during the 2015
growing season to collect data on vegetation
establishment over time along the Creek.
Weed Control
Weed control was completed by Weed Wranglers, Inc. at all Phase 1 mitigation areas and along
the installed 18 -inch pipeline corridor during the growing seasons of 2012 and 2013.
