Surface Water.
31.1.11
exceeded seven times at a total of five
sites. The CWQCC standard of 0.2
mg/1 applies to plants grown in acidic
soils, pH less than 6. Alkaline soils
found at Yoast and Seneca I1 W
would be 10 mg/1 according to the
EPA standard. The Maximum value
for manganese was 1.57o mg/l.
9. Instream Numeric
CWQCC regulation 33.0
Nine monitoring sites exist within the
Standards
Sage Creek and Grassy Creek Basins:
YSSF3, NPDES 12, NPDES 13,
NPDES 14, and YSS2 are on Sage
Creek. NPDES 10, NPDES 11,
YSGF5, and YSG5 are on Grassy
Creek. Spoil Springs YSSPG3,
YSSPG4, and YSSPG5 are found
within the Sage Creek Basin and the
Spoil Springs YSSPGI and YSSPG2
are found within the Grassy
Creek/Annand Draw Basin. The
receiving stream standards for both
Sage Creek and Grassy Creek are on
Segment 13e of the Yampa River
Basin. Stream standards are based on
the aquatic life standards. Table 14 of
the 2014 AHR compares the
standards to water quality collected
from all NPDES points and surface
water sites in the Sage Creek and
Grassy Creek Basins. The total
recoverable iron standard (1.0 mg/1)
was exceeded nine times at three
sites.
One site, YSG5, exceeded the
dissolved chronic selenium standard
(4.6 ug/1), YSG5 was recorded at 7.3
ug/l. As discussed in Item 7, NPDES
13 exceeded the potentially dissolved
chronic standard for selenium.
However, Sage Creek, Site YSS2,
was in compliance with this standard.
NPDES 13 did not impact the
selenium standard for Sage creek.
The mercury standard was exceeded a
total of nine times at five sites.
NPDES outfalls at Yoast are not
