r,
Weaver Engineering Services
2121 Comanche RD - Pueblo, Colorado 81001 - 719 - 429 -5510
March 19, 2015
Energy Fuels Coal, Inc.
PO Box 459
Florence, CO 81226
Atha: George Patterson, Mine Manager
RE: Technical Revision No. 43 (TR43) Adequacy Review Response
George,
This letter report and attachments presents a response to specific adequacy comments contained in the
DRMS Technical Revision No. 43 Adequacy Review (Adequacy Review) letter dated February 12,
2015.
Specifically, this letter addresses that part of the Adequacy Review requesting EFCI to provide an
analysis of the impacts to the quantity and quality of surface water and groundwater, and said analysis
should show that onsite impacts have been minimized and offsite impacts prevented. In addition, this
letter provides an assessment of the available hydrologic data relative to the impact projections
contained within the approved Probable Hydrologic Consequences (PHC).
This letter intends to provide an analysis of hydrologic impacts by addressing specific items contained
in the Adequacy Review, as follows:
• Analysis of the impact of the Southfield Mine on groundwater quality by plotting selected
individual water quality parameters against time for identification of any trends that may exist in
the data utilizing all available quality data collected at all current groundwater monitoring points
• Provide the full data set of surface water flow measurements for the three currently monitored
creeks.
• Plot all available flow data against time for identification of any long term trends that may exist in
surface water flows for the three creeks.
• Analysis of all available s<rhm water quality data by plotting representative individual water
quality parameters through time and identification of any tends that may exist in the data
• Assessment of the available hydrologic data relative to the impact projections contained within the
approved Probable Hydrologic Consequences (PHC).
Discussion
1 !=act of mining on groundwater quality based on P,12WU selected parameters UnW9 time from
all available quality data collected at current groundwater monitoring'. points
EFCI currently monitors four groundwater wells, MW16, MW23, MW65, and MWNW. The approved
list of chemical parameters for analysis includes pH (lab), Conductivity at 25C, Temperature (field),
Solids, total dissolved (TDS), Bicarbonate as CaCO3, Calcium, dissolved, Chloride, Magnesium,
dissolved, Nitrogen - ammonia, Nitrogen - nitrate nitrite, Phosphorus, ortho, Sodium, dissolved, Sulfate,
Iron, dissolved, and Manganese, dissolved.
