SECTION 5.6: SEDIMENT CONTROL <br />SC 8: STABILIZED CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE <br />SC 8: Stabilized Construction Entrance <br />Description A stabilized layer of <br />aggregate underlined <br />with a geotextile and <br />located where traffic <br />enters or exits the <br />construction site. <br />Applications <br />Installation <br />Maintenance <br />and Inspection <br />• Used to reduce the <br />amount of mud <br />tracked onto paved <br />public roads by <br />vehicles or runoff <br />leaving the <br />construction site. <br />• Used as a temporary <br />feature. <br />• The entrance must extend the full width of the ingress/ egress area and <br />have a minimum width of 12 feet and a minimum length of 70 feet (see <br />Figure SC 8.1). <br />• Area of the entrance must be excavated a minimum of 12 inches. The <br />geotextile will then be placed and covered with a minimum 12 -inch layer <br />of aggregate.
