The weather was clear and <br />seasonably warm. The ground was very muddy, and therefore the Monarch Fan road was not inspected. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />The two ponds at the mine site, Pond 4 and Pond 5, were holding water; there was a small amount in Pond <br />5 and much more in Pond 4. Neither of these ponds was discharging. No major problems were found with <br />embankments, flumes, or spillways. The primary spillway pipe for Pond 5 contains a small amount of sediment. <br />No problems were seen with the two culverts that act as inlets to Pond 5. <br />Rills were observed on the hillside northwest of the gravel lot (in the portal area). This is not within the Southfield <br />disturbance area.
