Colowyo Coal Company
2014 Annual Reclamation and Hydrology Report
• Upper West Fork Good Spring Creek (UWFGSC) is an upstream site, located
southwest of the mine along State Highway 13 and is represented on the Surface
& Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has
occurred from the 4t" quarter of 2007 to 2014.
• Upper Collom Gulch (UCG) represents the water quality conditions in Collom
Gulch upstream of the Collom Lite mining area and is represented on the Surface
& Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has
occurred from the 1St quarter of 2011 to 2014.
• Confluence of Jubb Creek (CJC) represents the aggregate water quality in the
Jubb Creek basin, downstream of potential mining impact areas and is
represented on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located in
Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has occurred from the 1St quarter of 2011 to 2014.
• Lower Collom Gulch (LCG) represents the conditions in Collom Gulch
downstream of mining impacts and is represented on the Surface & Ground
Water Sampling Sites Map located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has occurred from
the 1 st quarter of 2011 to 2014.
• West Fork of Jubb Creek (WFJC) represents conditions in the Jubb Creek
watershed adjacent to the mining disturbance and is represented on the Surface
& Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has
occurred from the 1St quarter of 2011 to 2014.
Ground Water Data - Ground water monitoring sites are comprised of five up dip (or
adjacent) and six down dip shallow alluvial wells and are briefly described below (See
Exhibit 2C for location):
• A -6 Well (A -6) is located south of the mine along State Highway 13, and this site
represents up dip, undisturbed or background conditions. This well is represented
on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located in Exhibit 2C.
Monitoring has occurred from 1984 to 2014.
• A -7 Well (A -7) is an alluvium well located south of the mine along State
Highway 13 and represents a potential down dip condition below the South
Taylor Pit operations. This well is delineated on the Surface & Ground Water
Sampling Sites Map located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring started in the second
quarter of 2008 and has continued through 2014.
• A -8 Well (A -8) is an alluvium well located south of the mine, west of State
Highway 13, and represents the condition up- gradient of the South Taylor mining
activities. This well is shown on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites
Map located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring started in the second quarter of 2008 and
has continued through 2014.
Page 2 -2
