The permit number is M-
2013 -007. The reduction of 8.98 acres has never been affected by the operation therefore,
no reclamation rules are in effect. A separate letter request for the reduction in permit
area is being made to you. The Technical Revision encompasses the following changes:
1) The access road that is parallel to T Road has been shortened in length. It will
leave T Road and branch off to the pit approximately 990 feet west of T Roads'
intersection with Horsefly Creek. This change is seen on the attached revised Map
C-2. Originally, a topsoil berm was suggested as a way to mitigate the road
proximity to the homes north of T Road. The current landowners do not request
this berm therefore it has been eliminated. The access road crossing of the
Montrose West Canal will be built in the location shown on Map C -2 according to
County and Ditch Company specifications.
2) The original office /shop area that was permitted further east of Horsefly Creek on
T Road has been eliminated from the permit. The office /shop has been moved to
the portion of the permit area that is located west of the Montrose Canal, as shown
on the revised Map C -2.
3) The visual berm that was to be left until the end of mining and then removed will
now be left in place. This berm is shown on Map C -2 and is shown left in place
on Map F- Reclamation Plan. Therefore, the slope to the pit on the outside of the
terrace will never be changed. All mining will occur inside this natural berm to
the final mining slope of 3H:1 V. Since the mining slope will be the same as the
reclamation slope, no backfilling is needed for reclamation. The slope will be
topsoiled according to the thicknesses described in the permit and will be
reseeded as soon as possible to prevent erosion. Map C -3 shows the cross section
of the terrace with the berm left in place. The berm left in place will slightly
AF & Report
l No Violations
