New Horizon Mine <br />I. RULE REQUIREMENTS <br />Rule 2.04.13(1)(a -i) states, by February 15, or such date agreed on, each permitted shall <br />file an annual reclamation report covering the previous calendar year for all areas under <br />bond. The report shall include, but not limited to, text, discussion and maps which <br />address: <br />• the name and address of the permittee and permit number <br />• location and number of acres disturbed during that year <br />• location and number of acres backfilled and graded during that year <br />• location and number of acres topsoiled during that year <br />• the species, location and number of acres of vegetation planted during that year, <br />including any augmented seeding or cultural practices <br />• location, number of acres and date of planting for all previously revegetated areas <br />A. DISTURBED AREAS <br />During 2014, no additional disturbance to native areas occurred onsite. The coal reserves <br />at the New Horizon Mine have been exhausted, and the mine is in the final stages of <br />reclamation. <br />As of the end of year 2014, the current disturbed area was 202.8 acres. 80.3 acres of this <br />total are considered long -term mining facilities. These areas are depicted on Exhibit <br />2014 -1. <br />C. BACKFILLING AND GRADING <br />During 2014, 0.0 acres were backfilled and graded. There were approximately 99 acres <br />regraded to assist in final placement of topsoil. Please see Exhibit 2014 -2. <br />D. RECLAMATION ACTIVITIES <br />1. Spoil Quality <br />The spoil sampling and analysis program for the New Horizon Mine is described <br />in Section 2.05.4(2)(d) of the approved permit. New Horizon sampled 18 <br />locations during 2014. Attachment 1 contains the analytical results for all <br />samples taken.
