CRIPPLE CREEK & VICTOR GOLD MINING Co. l
ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (COLORADO) amee
SQUAW GULCH (VLF) WEEKLY REPORT foster
whee(ei
Material hauled from the Surge area was placed and compacted as structural fill per project
specification between Bench L stations L4 +00 to L11+00 in Phase 1 and upslope of Bench N
stations N0 +00 to N14 +00 in Phase 2. A Cat 330C excavator with a hammer attachment broke
oversize material to meet project specifications for structural fill.
Phase 1 subgrade was rough graded downslope of Bench C between stations C4 +00 to C14 +00
and Bench E stations E4 +00 to E6 +00,
Spent Ore:
Mine Operations stockpiled spent ore in the PSSA using Cat 793 haul trucks and a Cat dozer.
Spent ore elevations were maintained above the drain cover fill grade by at least 20 feet for 793
haul traffic.
Ames placed select drain cover fill (SDCF) around the high volume solution collection system
(HVSCS) riser piping and surrounded it with the stockpiled spent ore that Mine Operations
delivered. Amec confirmed that rubber tired and dozer equipment stayed clear of the riser pipes
during placement and that lift surfaces were scarified prior to placement of subsequent lifts. By
week's end, Ames had backfilled around the HVSCS riser to approximately the 9,380 elevation.
Subgrade: Phase 1 and 2 rough subgrade preparation occurred. No additional subgrade was
approved during this reporting period.
Cameron Site: SLF processing was temporarily halted at the Cameron Site for equipment repair.
Underdrain System:
Primary Underdrain: Complete,
Secondary Underdrain: No work was performed during this reporting period.
Tertiary Underdrain: No work was performed during this reporting period.
Leak Detection: No work was performed during this reporting period.
B) Underground Workings:
Underground workings #6661, #6662, #6663, #6665, #6666, #6667 were excavated to competent
rock, backfilled per project specifications, and are considered remediated.
Underground working 46664 was excavated 20 feet uncovering a void, timbers, and openings
leading to the north and south. The northern opening trends towards/underneath the Phase 2
Diversion Channel and is located in a cut area; It will require further investigation and remediation
after the cut is removed. The southernmost opening was excavated until the termination was
located and was remediated by backfilling and compaction per project specification.
Underground working #6460 was excavated to approximately 15 feet. Competent rock was not
encountered. Drill access was provided and additional remediation is required.
Confirmatory drilling occurred at workings #6460, #6513, and the Anaconda Mine Complex.
Additional remediation is required.
Confirmatory boreholes were grouted at underground workings #6548, #6556, and #6660.
Underground workings #6546, #6556, #6548, #6590 and #6660 were coned with Cat 330 and
312 excavators in preparation for concrete plugs. No concrete plug placement occurred during
this reporting period.
