Compliance With Mine Plan - Support Facilities Not On-site <br />NANA <br /> - Other - Special Categories Of Mining <br />NAR <br /> - Processing Waste - Topsoil <br /> <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />A complete inspection was completed on 12 March 2015, by Tabetha Lynch and Jared Ebert of the Colorado <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety at the Keensburg Strip Mine; DRMS Permit No. C-1981-028 <br />operated by Coors Energy Company. Danny Kipp with CEC was present during the inspection. The weather was <br />clear and approximately 45 F with little wind. <br />AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION – Rule 4.17: <br /> Road were in good condition and were not creating dust. Spoil material is spread on top of the ash to avoid <br />ash blowing with wind. Ash is sprayed with water from a water truck if needed. <br /> <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> Records were checked at the on-site office. Details are provided at the end of this report. <br /> <br />BACKFILL and GRADING – Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br />Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> Approximately 3.5 trucks of fly ash are received by the mine each day and are being backfilled into B-Pit. <br />Two loads had been delivered before the inspection began, one was delivered during inspection, and one more was <br />expected that day. The pit and long term spoil areas appeared stable. There was water present in B-pit. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> Nesting hawks and owls were observed near Sediment Pond 2 at the time of inspection. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Sediment Pond No. 2 was dry. The embankments appeared stable and well vegetated. Inlets were clear of <br />obstructions. <br /> <br />The dugout pond was dry.
