to a stable equilibrium, which is more or less the same water quality as existed prior to mine re-
opening in 2012. This water should meet the CDPHE permit requirements.
Escanewav Hoist
At the top of the raise bore escapeway in Governor Basin, an escapeway hoist is to be
constructed of a metal beam superstructure approximately 16 feet high with hoist wheel, wire
rope and diesel powered electric motor. The hoist itself will be housed in a metal quoset but style
structure. The head frame, sheave wheel and escape capsule will reside inside two stacked sea -
cans on the east 1/3 of the structure.
The entire structure will be supported by a reinforced concrete foundation. The foundation will
be 12 feet long x 12 feet wide x 1 foot thick with V #20 rebar which is additionally anchored
into bedrock with #8 rebar and epoxy resin. The superstructure and foundations will need to be
removed for reclamation.
Because of the escapeway installation, we require a surface refuge equipped with survival
supplies in the event we are not able to complete an immediate rescue due to weather, etc. This
refuge area will reside in two 40' long sea -cans placed on top of each other and will be
equipped with survival equipment, food, etc. These are the same sea -cans which will hold the
head frame, sheave wheel and escape capsule discussed above. All structures will be removed
during reclamation. The sea cans are portable and fit on a flat -bed trailer.
This qonset but and sea -can structure may be installed for all three shafts that are planned in the
permit. However, it is requested that only the Governor Basin shaft structure be considered for
bonding at this time. This is due to the fact that the other shafts may not require any structures
on the top surface. It is understood that a Technical Revision will be needed at a later date
before any other structures can be installed at any of the other two shafts.
