Mr. Barnhard <br />Page 3 <br />February 5, 2015 <br />9. The Applicant has stated up to 250 gallons of diesel fuel will be stored in a raised tank. Fuel <br />stored on -site must have the proper secondary containment. The secondary containment <br />structure must be able to hold 110% of the capacity of the tank. The Operator may set the <br />tank in an impoundment that is impervious to diesel fuel or the Operator may utilize a <br />double - walled tank without the need for constructing an impoundment. Please respond. <br />10. As required by Rule 6.3.3(1)(n), identify the primary, and if applicable, secondary and <br />incidental commodities to be extracted by the proposed operation. <br />11. The Applicant has stated topsoil will be purchased and spread to a depth of 2 inches. The <br />Applicant is encouraged to specify a range of depths for topsoil replacement rather than a <br />specific depth. The Division recommends a range of 3 — 6 inches. Also, please note the <br />Division will include a cost for purchasing and delivering topsoil in the financial warranty <br />calculation. <br />12. The Applicant has stated topsoil will be purchased and spread to a depth of 2 inches. Please <br />specify at what point during the operation topsoil will be imported to the site. If topsoil will <br />be imported and stockpiled prior to final reclamation, then the Applicant must specify how <br />the topsoil will be stabilized to prevent erosion. Acceptable methods of stabilization include <br />seeding with a cover crop or installing silt fence. In addition, all stockpiles must be depicted <br />on the Mining Plan Map. <br />13. The Applicant has stated erosion controls will be in place throughout the operation. Please <br />specify the type of erosion controls to be employed as well as the location of the erosion <br />control structures. In addition, please commit to keeping all erosion control structures in <br />place until such time as the Division releases the site from further reclamation responsibility. <br />14. The Applicant has stated ore will be removed in patterns to minimize erosion. Please <br />describe the pattern used to remove ore and explain how this will help to minimize erosion. <br />15. The Applicant has stated a front -end loader will be used to load the ore into a haul truck. <br />Please provide a brief plan to address potential spills of the acid - generating material during <br />handling and loading. <br />16. The Applicant has stated a storage shed will be erected at the site. Please specify the <br />dimensions of the shed and the dimensions of the foundation if one is to be constructed. This <br />information is required so that the Division can include the cost for removal of this structure <br />in the financial warranty calculation. <br />17. The proposed Mining Plan calls for removal of the existing mine dump on the Wm. <br />Richardson Claim. Please specify what type of mining activities will occur on the Iron Claim. <br />
