Responses to Division of Mining Reclamation and Safety (DRMS) Adequacy Review of Letter Dated
January 26, 2015
By C. A. Braun PE -CPG — February 23, 2015
Following are brief synopses of the comments made by DRMS personnel in their January 26, 2015
"Clarification Needed" letter, followed by our responses.
Comment 1 DRMS requires future submitted water quality analysis reports to include all
laboratory documentation, and that those reports be submitted within 30
days of receipt by operator.
Response:
Agreed, all documentation supplied by the laboratory will be sent to DRMS within 30 days of receipt by
the operator.
Comment 2 The analytical laboratory is to analyze quarterly groundwater samples for all
required parameters, and the detection limits for those parameters will be
appropriate to demonstrate that appropriate State standards are being met.
Response:
Agreed, the samples will be analyzed for appropriate parameters and the detection limits for the
analyses will be appropriate to the maximum contaminant levels (MCLs).
Comment 3 The full suite of analytes will need to be sampled in future quarters unless a
DRMS is convinced that specific ones can be dropped and a technical revision
is applied for.
Response:
Testing will continue for the full current list of analytes and parameters no less than one additional
quarter. After that time the operator may reduce some analytes that are shown to be of no concern
following approval by DRMS.
