Natural Soda, LLC 2014 Project Status Report & Annual Plan of Development
6.3 Reclamation Activity
6.3.1 Regrading & Scarification
Regrading and scarification activities occurred in 2014 predominantly in support of the
' 2014 RDP project. Well pads & roads disturbed for the 2014 RDP project were
regraded completely for reclamation purposes on the 2014 P &A wells. The existing
access roads on the Northern Shell property were returned to their original state. 2014
' Wells that were completed as water monitor wells or water supply wells had their
associated pads and locations regraded (interim reclamation) so as to be still accessible
by NS personnel.
6.3.2 Seeding & Weed Control
' The majority of seeding activity in 2014 focused on the areas disturbed due to the 2014
RDP project. The access roads and all pads disturbed on the phase 2 wells were
completely reclaimed and reseeded in late fall of 2014. The areas disturbed for the
building of the WSW -3 and WSW -4 water supply wells and pipelines were also
reseeded in late fall 2014. The regraded disturbed pads for the WSW -3, DS -7, CH -C,
and CH -H have been reseeded as of late fall of 2014. NS plans to reseed the
' remaining phase I locations and the WSW -4 location during the first quarter of 2015.
Reseeding of the working surfaces of the BG -5, BG -6, DS -4 and DS -5 locations will be
undertaken in 2015 for the control of weeds noted per Mr. Rusty Roberts. The
' recommendation to reseed the afore mentioned locations can be found in the 2014
Vegetation Monitoring Reclamation Status Report prepared by Mr. Rusty Roberts found
in Appendix C of this report.
6.3.3 Reclamation Fencing
Repair and maintenance was performed, as necessary, on existing fences in 2014 as
' needed. Fencing is utilized to keep livestock and wildlife out of the reclamation areas.
6.3.4 Precipitation
' Precipitation gauges are located near the plugged and abandoned well 90 -5 (tipping
gauge) and near monitoring well EX -2 (V- gauge). Based on perennial vegetation, which is
an indicator of long -term precipitation, the "normal" precipitation for the NS site is 12 -14
inches for the calendar year. The distribution of precipitation is important for proper
reclamation. Table 8 provides a composite of precipitation from the two gauges at NS
Imine site:
i
DAUB & ASSOCIATES, INC. ,. 24 January 2015
