27. The Reclamation Plan states that portions of the existing roads in the permit area
will be removed. Please specify the dimensions of any haul roads which will need to be
reclaimed.
Non -paved internal haul roads will be removed as part of reclamation. The reclamation of these
haul roads is covered in the bond calculations by the topsoiling of disturbed areas outside of the
water reservoir.
28. The Reclamation Plan shows the north platform and the processing area will drain
offsite following the completion of reclamation. Please specify what erosion /stormwater
controls will be put in place following the completion of grading in these two areas. It
generally takes a minimum of two growing seasons for vegetation to establish. Runoff from
these areas must be controlled until an adequate cover of vegetation has been established.
A berm will be built along the east side of the north platform area to prevent stormwater
discharge from the backfilled slope in reclamation, as can be seen on Map F. The north platform
will be graded very slightly ( -1 %) to the south to ensure that runoff drains into the reservoir
area.
The current stormwater controls south of the processing area will be maintained until the
processing area has been successfully revegetated.
6.4.6 Exhibit F — Reclamation Plan Map
29. The Reclamation Plan Map does not depict an access road into the reservoir area. If
there will be an access road then it must be depicted on the Reclamation Plan Map.
Otherwise describe how the reservoir would be accessed for site maintenance or possible
reseeding of the vegetation islands.
Reservoir access roads are shown on Map F.
30. The Reclamation Plan Map depicts a road entering on the south end of the permit
boundary. Please clarify if this will be a permanent feature.
The paved road shown on Map F will remain for site access after reclamation.
E
