February 18, 2015 C- 1981 - 038 /Bowie No. 1 Mine JDM <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and Maintenance <br />4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The East Mine Haul Road was narrowed to its current configuration (16 -foot width) in 2009, during backfilling <br />and grading of this site. Surface drainage is directed to the ditch on the uphill side of the road by a series of water <br />bars. Flow is directed out of the roadside ditch at three locations: 1) into Ditch 7, the rip- rapped ditch that runs <br />down the reclaimed slope of the former crushing / screening bench; 2) into a drainage that parallels the west side <br />of the West Ridge Waste Pile; and 3) out of the affected area at the hairpin curve west of the West Ridge Waste <br />Pile. <br />Road surfaces at the Loadout, West Mine and East Mine were stable and in good condition, allowing access to the <br />areas by vehicle. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />The Paonia Loadout continues to be used as a storage facility for various mine- related materials from the Bowie <br />No. 2 Mine. <br />Silos, conveyors, and most other structures were removed from the Loadout in 2006 and 2007. Partial Phase I <br />bond release for structural demolition and removal of facilities was granted under SL -3 in 2008. <br />Facilities located at the loadout were stable with no problems noted. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 5 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />
