FINDINGS OF THE STATE ENGINEER <br />IN THE MATTER OF AN APPLICATION FOR A PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT A WELL IN WATER <br />DIVISION NO. 1, WELD COUNTY, COLORADO <br />APPLICANT: WILLIAM A RODMAN <br />PERMIT NO.: OS.Sg&, —F <br />In compliance with C.R.S. 37- 90- 137(1) William A. Rodman, (hereinafter "applicant") <br />submitted an application for a permit to construct a well. Based on information provided by the <br />applicant and records of the Division of Water Resources, the State Engineer finds as hollows: <br />1. The application was received complete by the State Engineer on April 11, 2001. <br />2. The applicant proposes to use an existing well, constructed on October 4, 2000, under Well <br />Permit No. 3597 -F -R, in the NE % of the SE % of Section 35, Township 6 North, Range 66 <br />West, 6'" Principal Meridian. <br />3. The proposed well is located outside the boundaries of a designated ground water basin. <br />4. The proposed maximum pumping rate of the well is 15 gallons per minute, and the requested <br />average annual amount of ground water to be withdrawn is 1 acre -foot <br />5. The applicant proposes to apply the water from the well to the following beneficial uses: <br />Domestic, stock watering, and the irrigatian of 5 acres in the NE % of the SE % of Section 35, <br />Township 6 North, Range 66 West, 6 Principal Meridian. <br />6. The proposed well, would be used to supplement well no. 3597 -F -R for the purpose of <br />obtaining the original appropriation of such well, which can not be obtained from the well. <br />7. Well Permit No. 3597 -F, issued on May 16, 1962, was constructed on May*24 and 25, 1962, <br />to a depth of 18 feet, and was perforated in the interval between 9 feet and 18 feet below <br />ground surface. In a pump test conducted on May 25, 1962, this well produced 50 gpm. <br />8. Well Permit No. 3597 -F was decreed by the Division 1 Water Court on July 19, 1974, as <br />Well No. 1- 3597 -F in Case No. W-4715 for an appropriation of 0.11 cfs (49 gpm) for stock <br />watering and the irrigation of 5 acres in the NE % of the SE '/ of Section 35, Township 6 <br />North, Range 66 West, 6t' P.M. <br />9. Well Permit No. 3597 -F -R, issued on June 24, 1975, was constructed on June 4, 1975, as a <br />replacement to Well Permit No. 3597 -F. The well was constructed to a depth of 33 feet, and <br />was perforated in the interval between'16 feet and 28 feet below ground surface. In a pump <br />test conducted on July 16, 1975, this well produced 50 gpm. <br />10. The Statement of Beneficial Use for Well Permit No. 3597 -F -R claims that an average of 15 <br />acre -feet of water was being diverted annually at a rate of 50 gpm for domestic, stock <br />watering, and the irrigation of 5 acres in the NE % of the SE % of Section 35, Township 6 <br />North, Range 66 West, 6h P.M. <br />11. The decree for Well No. 1- 3597 -F in Case No. W-4715 (Well Permit No. 3597 -F) was <br />amended by the Division 1 Water Court on October 3, 1975, to add domestic use to this <br />well. <br />
