MANAGEMENT <br />January 28, 2015 <br />Jason Musick <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety <br />1313 Sherman St., Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />- '�� "�� �-`� � <br />I;:it�IN� AND SAFM <br />Re: Bowie Resources, LLC, Bowie No. 2 Mine <br />Technical Revision #98 Borrow Areas for Final Reclamation, Gob Pile #2 <br />footprint increase and Pond D & F hydrology revision <br />Permit C- 1996 -083 <br />Dear Mr. Musick: <br />On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, (BRL), enclosed is an application for a technical <br />revision to 1) incorporate three borrow areas around gob pile #2 that will be used during <br />reclamation of gob pile #2, 2) increase the footprint and storage capacity of gob pile #2, <br />and 3) revise the hydrology associated with Ponds D & F. <br />1) The first item in this revision application is in response to Stipulation No. 34 as <br />attached to the approval of Technical Revision No. 77. The requirements of the <br />stipulation are to address the following items for the borrow areas: <br />a) A topsoil salvage, storage and redistribution plan, in accordance with Rules <br />2.05.3(5), 2.05.4(2)(d) and 4.06.4(2) <br />Topsoil salvage, storage and redistribution has been addressed on page 8 of the <br />Volume IX text and Appendix A. <br />b) A regrading plan in accordance with Rules 4.14.1 and 4.14.2 <br />The borrow areas are being created to generate material for final reclamation at <br />gob pile #2, and as such, the 'points' of the hillside are being graded to generate <br />material. <br />The area surrounding borrow area #1 has a natural slope of 1.5H. -1V to 3H-1V. <br />The final slope angle of borrow area #1 will be 2H-1V which falls within the <br />surrounding angle of repose. <br />The area surrounding borrow area #2 varies from 2H-1V to 4H-1V. The final <br />slope angle for borrow area #2 will be 2H: 1V which is within the natural angle of <br />repose of the surrounding area. <br />The area surrounding borrow area #3 varies from 0.8 H:1V to 2.8H-1V. The final <br />slope angle for borrow area #3 will be 1.5H-.1V which is within the natural angle <br />of repose of the surrounding area. <br />c) A revegetation plan in accordance with Rule 4.15. <br />
