The post- mining land use section headings have been revised in APD pages 5 -17 through 5-
22 to an alphabetic designation so as not to conflict with the published regulation section
designations. The term "Proposed" has been removed as requested.
2.05.5 — Post Mininiz Land Uses
A map of the post mining land uses was not included in the permit application. Please
submit a map prepared to the standards of Rule 2.10 showing all the post mining land
uses for the area within the current permit boundary (Rule 2.05.5(1)(c)).
A post- mining land use map has been prepared and is included.
Appendix 5 -14
1. On page 1, the second paragraph of the introduction describes the location of the mine
site and references figure 1. Figure 1 was not included with this appendix. Please
submit figure 1 which shows the location of the mine site.
Figure I has been incorporated into the Appendix.
2. In section 2.2.2 of Appendix 5 -14, it states that no transects were allowed to extend
within 10 feet of the reference area boundary. Using the scale provided on the 2014
Reference Area Sample Points photo, two points fall within 10 feet of the perimeter.
One of the two points is in the SE corner along the southern border and the other is on
the eastern border, second from the north. Please clarify if these points were used in
the data set.
As agreed in our meeting of November 26, 2014, this reference has been deleted from the text.
3. The first hit data points were provided and are listed in Table 2 of Appendix. Using
this data, the total vegetative covers values were verified. The data for the quantitative
cover was not provided in the dataset and therefore could not be verified. Please
provide the additional interceptions data for verification of data analysis.
Secondary and subsequent vegetation cover hits have been incorporated into Table 2 of the
Appendix.
4. All the data points in the data set of Table 2 are even numbers. Please include an
explanation as to why all the data points are even numbers.
The vegetation cover transects collect 50 data points per transect. To present cover data as
individual percent numbers totaling 100 percent, the individual data hits must be multiplied
by a factor of two (2), thereby yielding even numbers in the table. This explanation has been
incorporated into the Appendix.
