The inspection consisted of review by Janet <br />Binns of aerial photos collected by Harry Ranney of DRMS of 1/22/2015 and downloaded on 1/23/2015. <br />The Yoast Mine is a reclaimed surface mine. As such, little activity occurs during the winter months. Snow pack <br />limits access to the mine site. Water monitoring is the primary activity conducted on the reclaimed mine site <br />during the winter months. <br />The weather appeared clear at the time of the collection of the aerial photos. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />Although no elk were clearly observed in the aerial photos, there was sign of numerous elk track <br />throughout the mine site. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Pond 10 was frozen and snow covered. Snow machine tracks were visible on the access road to Pond 10, <br />and along the south side of Pond 10. <br />Pond I IA was frozen and snow covered. <br />Pond 12 was holding a pool of water and is ice and snow covered. There is an open channel at the pond inlet. No <br />problems were identified with Pond 12 based upon the aerial photo. <br />Pond 13 is frozen and snow covered. Pond 14 is frozen and snow covered.
