2.05.3
Runoff east of Reed wash is treated by the use of silt fences (SF -10 through SF-
13 as shown on Map -16), and pond 2 as shown on Map -16. By containing in
pond 2 or treating the runoff with a silt fence, the disturbance should not cause
or contribute to the violation of applicable water quality standards and that the
water quantity and quality, as well as other environmental resources of the
stream will not be adversely affected. The Operator will install stream buffer zone
signs that clearly show the areas that will not be disturbed.
The applicant will implement best management practices to control erosion from
Haul Road #1 as follows:
1) Exposed surface areas will be stabilized to promote a reduction in the rate
and volume of runoff; 2) Due to limited easement width, haul road #1 has been
designed to incorporate excelsior logs on the south side of the road to provide
long term sediment control. The road surface will be sloped to the south so run-
off from the road is directed to the excelsior logs. The excelsior logs are shown
on Maps 15 and 16.
These measures should minimize erosion, resultant siltation, and disturbance to
the prevailing hydrological balance.
Permit Application 2.05 -23 01/12
