January 22, 2015 C- 1982 - 057 /Seneca II -W Mine JHB
A portion of Pond 16 could be observed. Pond 16 was holding a frozen, snow covered pool of water. Animal
tracks were visible on the embankment. Little other observations could be made based upon the aerial photos.
Although drainages are snow covered, no obvious problems were noted with any of the drainages.
Stock tank T -27 appears to hold water, though frozen and snow covered. The other 3 stock tanks in drainage PM-
2A appear dry though snow covered (not holding water under the snow cover)
ROADS — Rule 4.03
Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4)
Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)
Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
Although Road G is snow covered, it appears a vehicle has attempted to access this road. Vehicle tracks
could be observed up to Pond 5. It was indeterminate whether these tracks were recent or had been in place a
while.
Roads throughout the mine site are snow covered. No recent vehicle tracks were noted on G road east of Pond 5.
No recent tracks were seen on the Ridgeline access road, LU4, LU -5, LU -3, LU -2 or Road A. Tracks on Road J
appear to be from a snow machine. SCC plows the main access road to the shop area. Limited plowing was noted
at the shop. There does not appear that there has been much activity at the shop recently.
The access road to the oil well is plowed as well.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
The snow fence on the ridge west of PD -4 drainage can be seen. Enlargement of the aerial photo finds a
considerable snowdrift forming on the leeward side of the snow fence. This drift is effectively covering the shrub
and tree transplants. The electric fencing surrounding the transplants cannot be seen in the aerial photo.
Drainage PM -1 watershed appears windblown and thinner snow pack than observed in other parts of the reclaimed
permit area. No locations within the reclaimed areas appear problematic at this time based upon the aerial photos.
SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
No new slumps or areas of instability were noted that have not previously been documented.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED NA
OTHER (SPECIFY) NA
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 5
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 3 of 7
