CWDA No. 3
401349 -0001 xuddiestnn- Perry
01/14/15
Site Visit Observations
HBET visited the site on January 8, 2015. At the time of our visit, the northeastern portion of
CWDA No. 3 was being excavated down to the base of the disposal area. The excavated soil
was being moved to the cover soil stockpile areas on CWDA No. 2. Wet gob was being placed
in the drying area at the southeastern corner of CWDA No. 3.
HBET did not observe any groundwater in the bottom of the eastern disposal area at CWDA No.
3. In addition, no water was observed emanating from the underdrain below the center of
CWDA No. 3. No evidence of instability of other adverse conditions were observed at CWDA
No. 3.
General
In general, based upon the results of the recent VWP monitoring data and our observations at the
site, HBET does not believe that there is any reduction in the stability of CWDA No. 3.
Continued quarterly monitoring of piezometers is recommended.
We are pleased to be of service to your project.
