Box 31268
Colorado Springs, CO 80911
RE: The Rise Above; DRMS File No. M- 2014 -054; Adequacy Review No. 2
Dear Mr. Anderson and Ms. Adkins,
The Division has identified several other comments and questions that must be addressed prior to
the Division's decision due date. Please be advised that if you are unable to satisfactorily
address any concerns identified in this review before the decision date, it will be your
responsibility to request an extension of the review period. If there are outstanding issues
that have not been adequately addressed prior to the end of the review period, and no
extension has been requested, the Division will deny this application.
6.3.4 Exhibit D — Reclamation Plan
The Applicant has proposed to transplant existing vegetation onto the reclaimed area. This is
not an acceptable means of establishing vegetation. The Operator may attempt to transplant
grasses in addition to the traditional method of seeding the reclaimed area with the desired
grass species. As such, you must identify a seed mix of the grass species to be used during
reclamation. Mr. Hovermale, with the U.S. Forest Service — Pikes Peak Ranger District, has
notified the Division that you have been provided with a list of native seed species which
may be used on U.S. Forest Service property. The Division recommends that you incorporate
this seed mix into your reclamation plan. The seed mix must specify the quantity of each
grass species to be planted as pounds of pure live seed per acre.
2. The Division will calculate the required financial warranty once all of the adequacy issues
have been addressed.
6.3.5 Exhibit E — Map
3. The Applicant has provided a copy of the revised Mining Plan Map, which included some of
the required elements of the Reclamation Plan Map.
