Dartmouth Ave.
Denver, CO 80110 -1308
c.
&/ A---1
Re: Buffalo No. 1, Permit No. M -19 -011, Technical Revision (TR -01), Adequacy Review -02
Mr. McGraw:
On December 19, 2014, the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) received your response
to Adequacy Review -01 regarding the Technical Revision (TR -0 1) submitted for this site on September 17,
2014. The Division has reviewed your response and has the following comment(s):
1. The original Technical Revision request indicated that you anticipate placing 20,000 tons of scrap brick
(grog) into the pit. However, your adequacy review response stated the quantity of scrap brick (grog) will be
4,500 CY. It is our understanding that no more than 4,500 CY of scrap brick (grog) will be stockpiled on
site at any given time. Therefore, this is the volume that was used for the bond calculation (see enclosed). If
this is incorrect, please respond with the correct volume of scrap brick that will be present at any given time.
2. The required Financial Warranty for this site was revised to include stockpiling the scrap brick (grog).
Based on the Division's bond calculation (see enclosed), the required Financial Warranty for this site is
$46,603.00, which is $10,289.00 more than the currently held bond. Please review the enclosed bond
calculation. If we do not receive a response from you by the decision due date for this revision, the revision
will be approved and you will be required to submit an additional bond in the amount of $10,289.00.
This concludes the Division's adequacy review -02 of this Technical Revision. Please remember that the
decision date for this revision is January 09, 2015. If you are unable to provide satisfactory responses to
any inadequacies prior to this date, it will be your responsibility to request an extension of time to allow
for continued review of this Technical Revision.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, ) 313
Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203, by telephone at 303 - 866 -3567, extension 8129, or by email at
amy.eschberger(a—) state.co.us.
Sincerely,
an &"
✓Amy Eschberger
Environmental Protection Specialist
/CC: Tom Kaldenbach, DRMS
w of cow .
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http: / /mining.state.co.us e ,
John W.
