December 3, 2014 C- 2010- 089/New Horizon North Mine BFB <br />no geo -web in segment 1 from 4 +68 to 5 +25 (approximately) and in segment 2 from 7 +70 to 8 +75 <br />(approximately). <br />Pond 001 east ditch segment 3 has a sediment deposit in the bottom that needs to be cleaned. <br />The shrubs were cut in the east ditch segments 4 and 5. <br />Several cross sections of Pond 001 ditches were measured for both the east and west segments. The drawings are <br />attached at the end of this report. The Division will evaluate these cross section measurements to determine if the <br />ditches are in compliance with Map 2.05.3(4) -7. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3); Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4); Surfacing and Maintenance 4.03.1(5) and <br />(6)/4.03.2(5) and (6); Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />Coal was not being hauled from the mine during this inspection. The east gate was closed. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />The gates in the fence line around the permit perimeter that will not be used as gates have been wired shut <br />(photo 4). All other fence gates will get an entrance sign which are currently on order. <br />Permit boundary signs are in place around the permit boundary including the equipment corridor, NH1 pond and <br />the southern boundary. <br />TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06 <br />Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />The topsoil for pond 2 was being stripped/salvaged. The salvageable topsoil depth ranged from 7 feet <br />(photo 5) to about 6 inches (photo 6) along the 2600 Road. The depth was more uniform, about 4 feet, 100 feet <br />east of the 2600 Road (photo 7). The topsoil was being stored in a temporary pile east of the pond 2 location on <br />undisturbed land. The pile will be moved to the main topsoil storage area when the haul road is constructed.
