EXHIBIT T:
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PLAN
This environmental protection plan is prepared for a proposed mining operation known as the
Iron& Wm. Richardson Lode Claims in Gilpin County, Colorado. Nevadaville Encore, LLC,
P. O. Box 1442, Central City, CO 80427, (303) 681-1111, includes this plan as"Exhibit T" for a
Limited Impact (110d) Operation Reclamation Permit Application M-2014-066 with the
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. This site has been inspected by Tony
Waldron and Michael Cunningham of the DRMS in August of 2014. Photos of current
conditions at the mine site are attached to this permit application.
The dump ore to be removed consists primarily of previously mined quartz and pyrite. Other
metals will be present in small quantities. They will be assayed for threshold limits under a
"TCLP" study as required by the Environmental Protection Agency. This study requires that ore
samples be sent to an EPA-certified lab for determination of threshold limits for 31 elements in
accordance with EPA regulations for waste classification. The tests should show that the dump
ore can be classified as solid waste. Test results will be shared with the DRMS.
There are no natural streams or intermittent water flows near the site. Russell Gulch, an
intermediate stream, lies about 800 feet to the north and should not be affected by this operation.
One small cut in the hillside will be dammed for erosion control using fence, staked hay bales or
berms.
The area under primary consideration for renewed mining is the easternmost 500 feet of the
historic mine dump of the Richardson Claim. Some portions of the Iron mine dump will be
sampled to determine if ore of sufficient grade lies on the east portion of the Iron as well.
Neighboring mine owners may be contacted for additional ore removal. No more than one acre
of disturbance is contemplated during this operation. Virtually all of the proposed disturbance
area is already covered with mine dump material. Only a few aspen and pine trees currently
vegetate the area of proposed disturbance. They will be removed. On-site reclamation will be
performed in accordance with the attached Reclamation Plan. An approved reclamation bond
will be posted with the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board prior to commencement of
mining activities.
Dust and noise will be kept to a minimum. No road widening nor other road improvements shall
be made during the primary mining phase. All Gilpin County zoning and mining regulations and
ordinances will be followed.
Miners will be trained under MSHA regulations, and taught hazard recognition and avoidance.
A safety program, consisting of training, meetings and inspections will be implemented. It will
include Material Safety Data Sheets for all fuels and other materials that may be stored and used
on the site.
