December 9, 2014 C- 1981- 025/North Thompson Creek Mine TNL <br />condition. Mines #1 and #3 were discharging water to the long pond (photo 1). The long pond contained water <br />and the bank was well vegetated and appeared to be stable. <br />T1 and T2 contained water and the bank was well vegetated and appeared to be stable. The discharge from pond <br />T2 was directed to Pond P9 (photo 2). P9 was discharging into the ditch leading to the refuse pond (photo 3). <br />Water was flowing in the ditch leading to the refuse pond but infiltrated at approximately half way to the refuse <br />pond. No flow was observed after this point. The hillside below the ditch was checked and no surface flow was <br />observed. The refuse pond did not contain water. The bank appeared well vegetated and stable. <br />A 2" valved pipe was observed through the embankment at Outfall 001, which appears to be the discharge control <br />valve (photo 4). <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The access road had muddy spots but was passable. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />Plumeless thistle and Houndstongue, both Colorado List B noxious weeds, were noted throughout the site <br />and need to be treated. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />The mine entrance sign with the permit number is missing. <br />ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS /COMPLIANCE <br />No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
