ENVIRONMENT, INC. PAGE 2
DECEMBER 1 2, 2014
Mining Plan Map shows that but the scale is such that a couple of feet here or
there, is not decipherable. Figure 6 cross-section A in the attached report shows
the setback distances and the safety factors for each.
3. The Applicant did not specify an offset and mining slope for the north and east side of Phase
1. Please provide the proposed Phase I north and east side offset and mining slope.
Mining in Phase 1 will begin 10 feet inside the slurry wall on the north and east sides
and a I to 1 working face will be used.
4. The Applicant did not specify an offset and mining slope for the west side of Phase 2.Please
provide the proposed Phase 2 west side offset and mining slope.
Mining in Phase 2 will begin 10 feet inside the slurry wall along the west side and a
to 1 working face will be used.
5. Please update the Geotechnical Stability Exhibit for the north, east and south sides of the mine
to include the proposed slurry wall and anticipated hydrostatic level.
5tability analyses were performed using DRMS recommended strength parameters
for the north, south, east and west sides of the Hatchery Pit. The anticipated
hydrostatic groundwater level was estimated for this analysis based on information
collected during the geotechnical investigation performed at the site in 2013. No
groundwater modeling was performed for these analyses.
6.The Applicant did not provide a typical soil profile description or illustration. Please provide a
typical soil profile for the stability analyses.
The typical soil profile was based on borehole information collected during the
geotechnical investigation perform in 2013. Testing of engineering properties was
not performed on the samples collected. The slope stability analysis used strength
values recommended by the DRMS. Bore logs are included in this response.
7. Please provide geotechnical borehole data,if available, for the site for Division review.
The 2013 bore logs are included in this response as well as the 2007 logs_
8. Please provide any soil property lab data,if available, for the site for Division review.
We do not have this data.
9.Please provide a geotechnical stability analysis for the Phase 1 excavation being used as a
sediment pond during the mining operations in Phase 2.
