MINING PLAN EXHIBIT D(CONT)
reduce the haul distances when reclamation starts . See the MINING
PLAN MAP-MAP EXHIBIT C-1 for the approximate location of areas
discussed in this text .
This pit will be operated year-around, weather permitting, as a
specification aggregate supply for sale on the open market and as
an Inert Materials landfill . The area is a two stage operation
but the bond is calculated for total disturbance. Therefore,
mining can take place on parts of the entire permit area without
exceeding the bonded disturbance limits . Two final reclamation
plans are presented to control the cost of the bond and are based
on the continued availability of backfill materials proposed as
fill in the excavated areas . Reclamation will run concurrent
with mining to reduce the amount of disturbance at any one time.
This site has been used for many years as the home place for the
original owners . The outbuildings were used to store
agricultural machinery when the area around this site was farmed
or when the fish hatchery was in full operation. The electric
and gas service to the buildings are owned by the landowners and
will be disconnected and removed before mining begins . Prior to
commencing mining the site will be stripped of trees, houses, and
buildings and disposed of properly.
Mining equipment may include but is not limited to, front-end
loaders, scrapers, off-road haul trucks, motor graders, track-
hoes, bulldozers, dump trucks and a water truck. EXPLOSIVES WILL
NOT BE USED DURING MINING OR RECLAMATION AT THIS SAND AND GRAVEL MINE .
MINING PLAN
Mining will start in 2015 or as soon there after as all permits
are obtained and run from 2 to 7 years depending on the amount of
material available and market demands. Please refer to Map Exhibit
C-1 -Mining Plan Map for location of the areas discussed in the
following text . The side slopes will be mined %H TO 1V AS WILL BE
THE MINING FACE . A MINING SETBACK ON EACH SIDE OF THE MINE WILL BE ESTABLISHED
BY THE GEOTECHNICAL ANALYSIS SO THEY ARE ADEQUATE TO PROTECT OFF SITE
STRUCTURES , ONCE MINING REACHES THE SETBACKS AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE PIT ,
MONTHLY EVALUATIONS WILL BE MADE TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO SLOPE STABILITY
FAILURES HAPPENING . There is sufficient material on the bottom of
the mine to create 3 :1 slopes around the excavation if mining or
backfilling of the face— f---t—ended prematurely.
