December 3, 2014 C- 1994- 082/Yoast Mine JHB <br />the pond embankment is free of snow. But the pond surface is frozen and slopes and ditches around Pond 10 are <br />snow covered. No concerns were identified with Pond 10. <br />Pond I IA was visible, with an ice covered pool of water, and snow covered inslope. The discharge riser is visible <br />at an elevation above the ice. The drainage, YPM -9, draining to Pond I IA appears intact from the digital image. <br />No problems were identified with Pond I IA. <br />Pond 12 is ice covered. Pond vegetation is visible through the ice. Pond embankment and side slopes are snow <br />covered. No concerns were discernible from the digital photos of Pond 12. <br />Pond 12A contains an ice covered pool. Pond 12A embankment and side slopes are snow covered. No concerns <br />were identified with Pond 12A. <br />Pond 13 was photographed. Pond 13 is ice covered with snow cover in the drainages leading to the pond. No <br />problems were identified with this pond. <br />Pond 14 was imaged. Pond 14 has an ice covered pool of water. Drainages and inslopes are snow covered. The <br />riser is visible above the ice. No problems were identified with Pond 14. <br />Drainages throughout the reclaimed mine area appear intact. No obvious damage is noted through the snow cover. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />Access roads throughout the reclaimed mine area are snow covered. The digital images do not provide an <br />idea of depth of snow on the roadways, but there is no sign that vehicles have travelled on the snow covered <br />roadways recently. There was no evidence of gullying or other erosional problems on the access roads. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />The reclaimed areas throughout the Yoast mine site appear relatively stable as far as the detail is <br />discernible in the aerial images. No concerns were noted that would require an immediate surface inspection. <br />SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12: <br />Previously identified areas of instability do not appear to show recent movement.
