2800 gallons per minute. During conditions when there are no thundershowers or during late spring <br />thaw, the Creek runs at a concentration of 20 to 40 mg /liter of suspended solids. During periods of <br />significant snowmelt every year and frequent summer thundershowers, the Creek can run from 300 to <br />800 mg /liter or more. <br />The author of this report took a picture immediately after a short thundershower event during a random <br />visit on August 24 of 2011, before any mine operation was restarted. The old Revenue mine dumps are <br />visible immediately upstream. <br />Photo 2- Sneffels Creek on August 24, 2011 before new any mine activity was started <br />No samples of this discharge were taken but the discharge is estimated as 250 -350 mg /liter total <br />suspended solids. Since this was the natural condition of the stream, it means that this area of Sneffels <br />Creek was accustomed to significant high sediment loads from time to time.
